Sender Policy Framework

Sender Policy Framework or SPF is an email authentication process which has been designed to detect the correct sender addresses during the delivery of an email.

The SPF record will contain the sending IP address or domain name and is added to the DNS or Domain Name System of the domain name which any emails are being sent from. This published record of the sending mail server can then be checked by the receiving mail server to confirm that any emails it receives to are coming from an authorised sender.
